Loosening My Grip

When the universe doesn’t conspire with you, when things don’t align as you think they ought to do you give up? Or do you persevere despite the odds?

When things are hard when the Joe Rogans and Ira Glasses of the world seem stacked against you, is that the time to strap on your rodeo belt buckle that says PERSIST head butt your way into the mosh pit of downloads and thrash with the millions (now 5 million according to freaking Spotify) of other podcasts seeking attention, or is it time to move along and try something new?

My meditation app reminded me this morning: “if you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.” Thanks, Wayne Dyer. I needed that.

Maybe it’s not an either or. Maybe it’s somewhere in between.

Someone wise once compared me to a puppy with a new chew toy. It seems I have trouble letting go of things. She said, try holding the thing you most desire with a gentle hand. Unclench your jaw from the squeaky squirrel. Let some air in. Change your perspective.

Go back to the WHY of the thing. Why are you producing 2 Lives in the first place? To share stories of transformation. To share not just the hardest day but what came next. The comeback, the redemption songs. To be reignited and to light a fire.

What do you do when consumed in doubt? I’d love to know.
